The Cherry Red Report

Just wanted to let you know that The Artist Known as The Spirit has a new website The Spirits Studio that is an archive of his fantastic and sensual spanking and erotic art.

The site also features The Spirit’s intriguing commentary on each piece.

To the left I included one of my favorites: “A Pout Sprout Out” (1997) and below right another stand-out and so VERY appropriate for this time of the year: “The Designated Driver.” (1998) Click On Images to Enlarge.

In addition, this site will feature a permanent gallery as well as a rotating gallery of his artwork.

Do check his enticing anthology “Spank Me: The Art of the Spirit” published in 2004 — a must-have art book for any spankosexual [available via Amazon.com]. I certainly hope a follow-up is in the works.

The Spirit: “I find this double-barreled image to be an important piece in my evolution as an artist. In an editorial context there is a clear political and patriotic symbolized meaning to this image.

“At the time I was creating this, the world was in its second year of its war on terror, and I was hoping for a swift and decisive conclusion to it, as there had been in WWII.

“Well, that was not meant to be, but at least we can smile when viewing this art work, as it reminds us of previous victories from yesteryear, and my incorporation of sensual fetishism and humor into the mix (which is not entirely unusual for me to do).

“In so much as the development of my art is concerned, this piece really clarified much as my style of art is further refined combining and supporting both painted and inked line elements within one harmonious image. Yes this image is humorous, but is it comical? And if it is comical, does that make it a cartoon? I certainly hope not. I guess I am pre-occupied with these worries.”

Seasons Greetings from The Cherry Red Report!

With the conclusion of the “Cherry” awards, it’s time to move on and present some new bottoms on the block.

I also need some healing time right now, as I just came from the cinema having seen one of the worst movies I ever blew 11 bucks to painfully muddle through: “The Day the Earth Stood Still” featuring the brain-dead Keanu Reeves. This waste of celluloid makes “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” look like “Casablanca.”

I am pleased to announce the addition of Net hottie and cyber-sleuth Gigi Spice to our small but growing staff at The Cherry Red Report.

As Director of Security, her main directive will be protecting the blog, combating computer viruses and defeating the growing threat of malicious software or “malware.”

Gigi, shown her in her Tomb Raider inspired security uniform, will also be tasked with destroying spam that floods our inboxes, running around in impossibly tiny short-shorts, and working on her tan. And shooting things with her laser guns.

This Latin lass, who hails from Brasil, starts her job immediately. “As I typically have no clue what I am doing, we are delighted to have Ms. Gigi Spice at CRR to take on the critical issue of protecting the integrity of not only this blog but our computer systems,” said Dave. “She also has one of the most spankable bottoms I have seen in, like, I dunno, a very very very long time.”

“I am most pleased to help out Mr. Dave at The Cherry Red,” said Gigi in an official statement.

“Spam and viruses are bad for the blog, especially as Mr. Dave’s computer is 20 years old. And Mr. Dave is close to 100 years old or something.

It’s always refreshing to get the perspectives and insights from a Top. A seasoned Spanker. A strict Dom. A Pro Spanko.

Most blogs, this one included, are often naturally quite fixated on all the beautiful spankees and bottoms, such as the spanktastic Morgan Mae pictured at left, squirming over the lap of Paul Wilson.

I’m also fascinated on how a pro Top gets these apparent dream jobs in the first place. So we decided on a short interview with Paul [pictured here as the Spanker in all photos] who is a new addition to the tail tanning team at the Punished Brats website.

We discussed topics ranging from his preferred “camera-friendly” spanking techniques to who is the brattiest model he has disciplined.

I must say I find Paul’s story in getting this cinematic spanking gig pretty inspiring. Currently, my day-job involves toiling away in a cubicle in a windowless, possibly haunted basement that was formerly a bomb shelter with a manic-depressive, control-freak of a boss. But I digress. . .

Thanks a lot for having me. I’m a long-time reader, so it’s an honor!

So how did you end up with what seems to be a dream job at Punished Brats? And how did you find out about this opportunity in the first place?

I saw an ad on the website, so I wrote to them. I was quite pleasantly surprised when I got an email saying they were interested.

Did you have to go on a job interview, send them your resume, do some tryouts/screen-tests and such ?

Actually, it was more like jumping in at the deep end. I corresponded with Pixie [pictured at right] via email before talking with David [the company’s owner] on the phone. The phone conversation with David was essentially the interview. He has the final say. They had other applicants before me, so by the time I wrote, they had a pretty good feel for the market. Once a date was set for the shoot, it was all systems go!

Heya, do you think they might offer me a gig? :-))

I think anything is possible Dave, but you’d have to thumb-wrestle me for it!
